Growing numbers of subscribers - EASY ARCHIVE is ready for anything
Cooperation between the Handelsblatt publishing group and EASY SOFTWARE began with the storage of subscription queries. Today, EASY ARCHIVE plays a key role in the company's IT environment, confirms Boris Komor, manager of Application Development at the publishing group. The Handelsblatt publishing group has been working with EASY since 1991. It all began with a simple PC, a scanner, a CD-ROM drive and some 400 A4 size sheets of paper per day.
A closely-knit data network between accounting and the archive
Since 1994, the Accounting department has been closely linked with the archiving software. Right from the start, "cooperation" with the archive was to be as fully automated as possible without giving up convenient tools such as full text search. In 1995, 65,000 invoices were stored in the EASY archive; a year later, this figure had risen to 70,000. The Genios economic database is a special feature with the publishing group: analysts, consulting firms, and economic movers do their search in it. All search requests are exactly registered and outgoing invoices are in detail accordingly. Thus the 15,000 Genios invoices issued in 1996 had a total of 120,000 pages of attachments containing important customer information. "EASY ARCHIVE is particularly valuable with regard to these requirements," says Boris Komor, Manager of Application Development.
Price/performance ratio - a point in favor of EASY ARCHIVE
In addition, the price/performance ratio, particularly the "transparent licensing policy", was a point in EASY ARCHIVE's favor. Not only problems in mirroring non-SAP data but also cost factors difficult to fathom provided arguments against the systems of competitive providers. One of the impending joint projects is to optimize working with the archive from different applications through the retrieval function.
